Dr SIDDARTH SETHI’S SUMMARY
Dr. Siddarth Sethi is a highly experienced gastroenterologist and hepatologist with extensive expertise in the assessment and management of gastrointestinal and liver disorders. His clinical practice encompasses irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), inflammatory and functional bowel diseases, viral hepatitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GORD), coeliac disease, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, bowel cancer screening, and liver diseases, including cirrhosis and alcohol-related complications.
Dr. Sethi has significant expertise in medico-legal assessments, providing independent medical opinions on cases involving medical negligence, workplace injuries, motor vehicle accidents, and total and permanent disability (TPD) claims. His assessments often address gastrointestinal injuries sustained in workplace and motor vehicle accidents, as well as complications arising from medication use, including NSAIDs and pain medications affecting the stomach and oesophagus. He also provides expert opinions on gastrointestinal symptoms claimed as a consequence of anxiety and mental health disorders.
Dr. Sethi is highly trained in endoscopic procedures, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and capsule endoscopy, and regularly assesses complications arising from these interventions. He holds admitting rights at Westmead Private Hospital and Bankstown Day Surgery Clinics in Sydney.
As a recognised expert witness, Dr. Sethi has provided testimony in cases related to work-related injuries, motor vehicle trauma, gastrointestinal endoscopy outcomes, and obesity surgery procedures. He has also presented as a guest speaker on the impact of autoimmune conditions on return to work.
