DR JANE MUIR’S SUMMARY
Dr Jane Muir is an Occupational and Environmental Physician with remote emergency experience and a focus on preventative workplace health.
Dr Muir has experience in consultancy work for large organisations and has worked in a leadership role for a global medical assistance team with responsibility for supporting local medics to manage injuries and illness on remote sites.
Dr Muir first studied medicine in the United Kingdom at Brighton and Sussex Medical School before moving to Australia, where she worked in emergency medicine and surgical roles until she completed her occupational physician training.
Dr Muir leads a range of clinical services such as pre-employment evaluations, health surveillance, injury management (available both in-person and via telehealth), and assessments for fitness for duty and independent medical examinations. She possesses a wealth of experience not only within the New South Wales workers compensation scheme but also across various other state schemes.
Dr Muir is passionate about ensuring injured workers receive top-notch, coordinated care—working diligently between employers, insurers, and rehabilitation providers to uphold evidence-based medicine and emphasise the vital role that work plays in good health.
Dr Muir also provides consultancy services, regularly conducting site health risk assessments and medical emergency response planning and delivering large occupational health surveillance programs.
