DR DAVID SHERRING’S SUMMARY
Dr Sherring is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He completed his undergraduate degree in Dentistry (University of Sydney) in 1992 and immediately commenced full time service in the Australian Regular Army, seeing active service in Rwanda in 1994/95. Subsequently he completed his Medical Degree (University of Adelaide) with a Clinical Doctorate in 2002. He has remained in the Reserve forces following discharge.
Prior to obtaining his Specialist Surgical Fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr Sherring obtained a Clinical Doctorate (D. Clin. Dent) with his research thesis considering Maxillofacial Surgery Treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea.
Dr Sherring holds Senior Medical Officer appointments at multiple Public Hospitals since 2005.
Dr Sherring undertakes dentoalveolar and dental implant surgery, including complex treatment involving grafting procedures to the jaws or sinus offering local or general anaesthetic as appropriate.
Dr Sherring has been examining trainees in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery since 2006 and is currently an examiner for the Part 2 Fellowship Examination. Additionally, he has recently completed a two year term on the Board of Studies, RACDS as a nominated ANZAOMS member.
Dr Sherring has been an active member of ANZAOMS Council since 2010 and was elected Vice President in 2015. He has been awarded the honour of the Presidency of ANZAOMS in 2017.
