DR MICHAEL ROBERTSON’S SUMMARY
Dr Michael Robertson is an expert in drug and alcohol-related matters with over 20 years experience both nationally and internationally. He is currently the Director and Senior Clinical & Forensic Toxicologist and chemist at Independent Forensic Consulting (IFC).
He is one of only a few independent, fully-trained and qualified clinical and forensic toxicologist’s practicing in Australia.
Dr Robertson testifies regularly throughout Australia and has appeared in most States and Territories throughout Australia.
As a clinical toxicologist Dr. Robertson provides independent advice to a range of national drug testing companies and other private, government and union organisations relating to issues.
As a qualified Trainer in drug and alcohol testing, Dr. Robertson performs training and qualifies collectors in accordance with the current Australian Standards for breath alcohol, urine and oral fluid collection and drug detection.
Trains in collection procedures together with the operation and application of breath testing devices; the operation and application of urine drug testing devices and the operation and application of oral fluids collection devices to ensure compliance with AS/NZS 4308:2008 and AS4760-2006.

Dr Robertson has been involved in some of the most complicated national and international cases and is a leading National expert in hair testing and routinely provides expertise in drug, alcohol, chemical and poison related matters associated with:
- Criminal Law (including drug facilitated sexual assault; DUI and DUID; cause or contribution to death; drug possession and matters of legal status of drugs including the evaluation of Synthetic Cannabis and Synthetic Stimulants e.g. ‘Bath Salts’ and issues associated with analogue provisions)
