What is Telehealth IME?
A telehealth independent medical examination (IME) is like a traditional in-person assessment but conducted remotely using online technology. This may include video calls, audio consultations, or desktop file reviews. Each appointment is tailored to the individual’s case, environment and needs, with support from our experts and, when necessary, allied health professionals at the examinee’s location.
Also called telemedicine, this approach uses electronic communication tools to connect a person requiring a medical assessment with the appropriate specialist without them needing to be in the same place.
When is Telehealth IME a viable option?
Telehealth IMEs are appropriate where physical attendance is unnecessary or impractical for determining medico-legal issues such as causation, impairment, treatment necessity, or capacity.
