MR TOM CLEARY SUMMARY

Tom Cleary is a certified Occupational Therapist with significant experience as a treating OT, Hand Therapist, Senior Rehabilitation Consultant, and Rehabilitation Claims Consultant. Additionally, Mr Cleary is an independent medical examiner at Australian Specialist Hub. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Occupational Therapy from Exeter University and in 2022 became a Therapy Driver Assessor.

Currently Mr Cleary performs a mixture of claimant and defendant medicolegal work across NSW and ACT. Assessments performed include –

• Functional Capacity assessments,
• Activities of Daily Living assessments,
• Fitness to Work assessments,
• NDIS reviews.

Mr Cleary also provided Occupational Therapy treatment to clients across a variety of insurers including –

• OT treatment under Lifetime Care / CPT / Workcover,
• one off ADL / Workplace assessment and
• Total and Permanent Disability ADL assessment for life insurance

As Director of Adapt Rehab, Mr Cleary provides OT driving assessments, working with a diverse mix of clients looking to either return to driving or assess their capacity to drive, with a particular focus on return to driving following PTSD.

Mr Cleary recently qualified as an OT Driving Assessor, working with Neurological Research Australia (Neura) on a clinical trial into the effective intervention solutions for older age drivers.
