Dr Peter Spittaler is an Australian-trained Adult and Paediatric Neurosurgeon.

Dr Peter Spittaler grew up in Sydney, NSW, attending Newington College before completing his medical qualifications at Sydney University. He had training appointments at The Children’s Hospital, Westmead Hospital, Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital (Perth), and Royal Adelaide Hospital. He also held overseas appointments as a Senior Registrar in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK, a Fellow in Skull Base Surgery at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, and a visiting Neurosurgeon in Lithuania.

Recently, Dr Spittaler has travelled to Europe, Asia and the Middle East to offer education and confer with peers on best practices and cutting-edge technology.

Dr Spittaler is also a Clinical Examiner in Surgery (Australia and New Zealand) and has published many articles in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr Spittaler is now appointed as a Head of Department (Neurosurgery) at John Hunter Hospital, and visiting Neurosurgeon at Newcastle Private and Lingard Private Hospitals.
